About Chesapeake Trilogy

Hi, I’m Alan Battista, the owner of Chesapeake Trilogy. My passion for fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until I moved to the Chesapeake Bay after college that it truly became an integral part of who I am. As one of the early adopters of kayak fishing, I had the privilege of helping shape and grow the sport into what it is today. In fact, I even wrote the book on the subject—literally. My three-book series, which is where the name Chesapeake Trilogy comes from, has been a trusted source for educating new striped bass anglers for years.

Back in the day, when I’d head out on my kayak in the middle of the bay, it was a rare sight. I can’t count how many boaters would stop to offer assistance, or how many times I’d end up in a long conversation at the boat ramp with curious anglers. Things have changed a lot over the decades, and I’ve had the chance to meet so many amazing people through this sport. It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel so blessed to have gained so much from the sport I love.

Chesapeake Trilogy is an extension of that passion. This shop allows me to create products in a way that only an angler can understand. These aren’t mass-produced items churned out by a big corporation. Every product is inspired by the local fishing holes, cherished landmarks, quirky jargon, and insider knowledge that only a devoted angler knows. It’s all about authenticity—something you can wear or use with pride, knowing it’s made by someone who truly lives and breathes the sport.

Conservation has always been a core part of my message. That’s why for every “Conserve” titled product we sell, 100% of the profits will be donated to fisheries causes, charities, and science. I simply want these products out there to show the support from our community and spread the message about the importance of preserving our waters and species for future generations.

I hope you feel the same passion and connection through these products that I do when creating them. And since I’m always working on new designs, I’d love to hear from you! If there’s something you’d like to see or a species you think deserves its own tribute, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for being a part of this journey!
